Why Team India Didn’t Celebrate Champions Trophy 2025 Win with a Bus Parade- IPL

Why Team India Didn’t Celebrate Champions Trophy 2025 Win with a Bus ParadeRohit Sharma-captained Team India are set to leave separately after clinching the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 in Dubai. India’s split departure eliminates the chance of an open-top bus celebration that took place following the T20 World Cup 2024 triumph last year. With the Indian Premier League set to begin on March 22, the players are likely to take a brief rest before the lucrative tournament.

According to news agency IANS, apart from players departing separately from Dubai for their respective hometowns/destinations, a key reason for the absence of a bus parade in Mumbai is that the final phase of WPL 2025 begins at Mumbai’s Brabourne Stadium on Monday. Due to this, ensuring security for a bus parade will not be feasible.

According to source, Team India head coach Gautam Gambhir is set to arrive at Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi later today (March 10), indicating that he won’t be traveling with the team. In fact, with the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season commencing on March 22, all the players will be traveling separately as well.

The training camps for all 10 franchises are in progress, and players are joining their respective teams. It remains uncertain when and how the players who were part of Team India’s squad for the ICC Champions Trophy will begin their preparations for IPL 2025.

India’s Dominant Run in the Tournament

Team India remained undefeated throughout the tournament, winning matches against Bangladesh, Pakistan, and New Zealand in the group stages. Then the Men in Blue defeated Australia in the semifinal to arrange a final encounter against New Zealand.

Rohit Sharma-led India defeated New Zealand by four wickets in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 final to secure the title. The Indian skipper, Rohit Sharma, received the Player of the Match award for his impressive 76-run knock in the final.

After winning the title, Team India became the most successful team in Champions Trophy history as the Champions Trophy 2025 was their third victory. The first one was shared with Sri Lanka in 2002, and the second trophy was won under MS Dhoni’s leadership in 2013.
