A big update has emerged regarding India’s Under-19 team ahead of the upcoming five-match Test series between the senior India and England teams scheduled for June. As per reports, India’s U-19 team is also set to tour England, where they will play five One-Day matches and two unofficial Test matches. Rising stars Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Ayush Mhatre are likely to be included in the squad.
Team to Arrive in England on June 21
A BCCI source informed TOI, “India’s Under-19 boys team will tour England this summer. The team will reach the UK on 21 June. Incidentally, the Indian women’s team (three WODIs and five WT20Is) and the Indian Mixed Disability team will also tour England this summer (where a seven-match T20I series will be played). According to the information, the Indian team will arrive on a tour of England on 21 June where Chennai Super Kings’ young batsman Ayush Mhatre, who made a splash in the IPL, and Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who played for the Rajasthan Royals team, became the Indian player to score the fastest century in the history of IPL after Yusuf Pathan.
It’s worth noting that young batter Vaibhav Suryavanshi has previously played against Australia for the India U-19 team, where he scored a century. Both he and Ayush Mhatre were also part of the U-19 Asia Cup squad, serving as the team’s openers. Their eye-catching performances in the IPL have caught the selectors’ attention and seem to have earned them a spot in the upcoming England tour.
U-19 World Cup Preparation
