Gautam Gambhir Receives Death Threat from ‘ISIS Kashmir’ Following Pahalgam Terror Attack- IPL

I Kill You: Gautam Gambhir Receives Death Threat from 'ISIS Kashmir' Following Pahalgam Terror AttackGautam Gambhir, the head coach of the Indian cricket team, recently got a scary death threat. This happened just after a tragic terrorist attack in Pahalgam, a town in Jammu and Kashmir, on Tuesday. The threat came in the form of a short but chilling email. It had just three words: “I Kill You.” The message was sent by a group calling itself ‘ISIS Kashmir’. After getting the threat, Gambhir didn’t waste any time. He quickly contacted the police and filed a formal complaint to make sure his family stays safe.

“Former BJP MP and current head coach of the Indian cricket team, Gautam Gambhir, received a death threat from ‘ISIS Kashmir’. On Wednesday, he approached the Delhi Police, filing a formal complaint for an FIR and seeking measures to safeguard his family’s security,” the office said.

On Tuesday, Gautam Gambhir received two threatening emails, one in the afternoon and another in the evening. Both emails had the same message. Sadly, this isn’t the first time something like this has happened to him. Back in November 2021, when he was still serving as a Member of Parliament, he got a similar threat through email.

Gautam Gambhir recently went on a holiday to France with his family, but he came back to India earlier this month. After India won the Champions Trophy in March, he has mostly stayed away from the limelight. While the players are busy playing in IPL 2025, head coaches usually get some time to relax during the tournament. Gambhir took over as the head coach of the Indian team in July last year, replacing Rahul Dravid, who had earlier led India to a World Cup victory.

Gambhir was one of the many Indian sporting personalities to raise his voice against the Pahalgam terror attacks.“Praying for the families of the deceased. Those responsible for this will pay. India will strike,” he has posted on X.

Gambhir’s Comeback: From Losses to Champions Trophy Win

Gambhir has recently enjoyed a more positive run as head coach with the Champions Trophy 2025 triumph, his early tenure was challenging. India lost the ODI series in Sri Lanka and suffered a 0-3 whitewash at home in the Test series against New Zealand. The pressure mounted further after a 1-3 series defeat in Australia, which saw India surrender the Border-Gavaskar Trophy after holding it for eight years.
