Jasprit Bumrah’s IPL 2025 Return Uncertain, Likely by Mid-April; Akash Deep Expected by April 10- IPL

Jasprit Bumrah’s IPL 2025 Return Uncertain, Likely by Mid-April; Akash Deep Expected by April 10Indian fast bowlers Jasprit Bumrah and Akash Deep are still recovering from their injuries, which has pushed back their return to cricket. They have already missed the first few matches of the ongoing IPL 2025 and are currently undergoing rehab at the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru.

Bumrah’s IPL Return Uncertain, Likely by Mid-April

According to The Times of India (TOI), Bumrah is almost done with his recovery, but there’s still some doubt about whether he will be able to play in the rest of the IPL season. Jasprit Bumrah, one of the best bowlers, is still not bowling at full speed at the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence (CoE). He is taking care of his workload, and doctors at the CoE are slowly increasing it.

As per reports, Bumrah may join the Mumbai Indians team by mid-April. This means he could miss three more matches against LSG, RCB, and DC. The BCCI is being careful with his workload because he is very important for India’s Test series against England after the IPL. They don’t expect him to play all five Test matches and will manage his workload there too.

“Bumrah’s injury is a bit more serious. The medical team wants to ensure he doesn’t suffer a stress fracture. Bumrah himself is being careful. He is bowling at the CoE but it could take longer to get back in full swing. No definite timeline has been set yet, but one hopes he gets back by mid-April,” a source told the Times of India.

Akash Deep is likely to make his return by April 10

Lucknow Super Giants pacer Mayank Yadav is following the same recovery timeline as Akash Deep and Jasprit Bumrah. As per the updated rules, the final approval will come from the bowling coach at the Centre of Excellence (CoE). The medical team will first assess if the player is physically fit for top-level cricket, and then the bowling coach will decide if he is ready to play before he leaves the CoE.
