Australia’s iconic batter David Warner, who went unsold in the Indian Premier League 2025 mega auction, will captain Karachi Kings in the forthcoming edition of the Pakistan Super League season 10. The tournament is set to commence on April 11, and Karachi Kings will kick off their campaign against Multan Sultans on April 12 at National Bank Stadium in Karachi.
Warner made history in the PSL auction as Karachi Kings spent USD 300,000 to secure the services of the legendary opener. He becomes the costliest player ever drafted in PSL history. Karachi Kings took to their ‘X’ account, formerly known as Twitter, to announce their captain for the upcoming season.
“We warmly welcome David Warner to the Karachi Kings family as our captain. His leadership and match-winning performances align perfectly with our team’s vision” said Karachi Kings owner Salman Iqbal for David Warner.
“At the same time, we sincerely appreciate Shan Masood’s exceptional captaincy last season. His efforts have built a strong foundation for Karachi Kings, and we are delighted that he remains an integral part of the team” added Salman Iqbal.
Earlier, Shan Masood led the franchise during the Pakistan Super League 2024. Karachi Kings had a disappointing campaign in the previous edition of the tournament, managing to secure just four wins out of their 10 matches. They finished the last season in second-last place.
