Rajasthan Royals Dismiss Match-Fixing Allegations as ‘False,’ Lodge Complaint with CM- IPL

IPL 2025: Rajasthan Royals Dismiss Match-Fixing Allegations as 'False,' Lodge Complaint with CMRajasthan Royals (RR) have hit back at Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) ad hoc committee convenor Jaideep Bihani’s match-fixing allegations following their two-run loss to Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at home. RR’s senior official, Deep Roy, has firmly rejected Bihani’s claims, describing them as “false, baseless and without any evidence.”

Rajasthan Royals (RR) have also submitted a formal complaint to Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, the Sports Minister and the Sports Secretary. In their complaint, the franchise has called for strict action against Jaideep Bihani, who has expressed dissatisfaction with the Rajasthan Cricket Association’s (RCA) limited involvement in the management of IPL 2025.

“We reject all allegations made by the convener of the ad hoc committee. Such public statements are not only misleading but have caused serious damage to the reputation and credibility of Rajasthan Royals, Royal Multi Sport Private Limited (RMPL), the Rajasthan Sports Council, and the BCCI. They also tarnish the integrity of cricket,” RR said in a official statement.

Bihani had also voiced his frustration over the RCA’s absence in organizing the IPL matches in the state, adding to his grievances about the lack of involvement in the management of IPL 2025.

The ad hoc committee, appointed by the state government in Rajasthan, has now been extended for the fifth time. Bihani stated that they ensure all competitions run smoothly, but when the IPL came around the Zila Parishad (district council) took over the organization. He pointed out that the BCCI had initially contacted the RCA, not the Zila Parishad and criticized the excuse from RR and the RCA regarding the lack of an MOU with Sawai Mansingh Stadium. Bihani questioned why the absence of an MOU should be an issue, especially since the Zila Parishad is paid for every match.

Rajasthan Royals (RR) have lost six out of their eight games and currently sit eighth on the points table, just ahead of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) thanks to a better net run rate (NRR). Their chances of making it to the playoffs are slim, and they’ll need to treat the remaining matches as must-win situations. In their next match, they will face Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) away from home with the team missing their captain, Sanju Samson, due to injury.
