Shubman Gill Upset Over Controversial Run-Out Decision Against SRH- IPL

IPL 2025: Shubman Gill Upset Over Controversial Run-Out Decision Against SRHShubman Gill was visibly upset and confronted the match official after he was run out during the Gujarat Titans’ match against SunRisers Hyderabad on Friday, May 2. The incident happened on the last ball of the 13th over at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, which is the Gujarat Titans’ home ground.

Gill was found short of the crease at the striker’s end after a sharp throw from Harshal Patel. While it was clear that Gill was short, there was some confusion about whether wicketkeeper Heinrich Klaasen had broken the stumps with the ball still in his hand.

The moment of the dismissal was shown several times from different angles for TV umpire Michael Gough. He watched the replay where Klaasen flicked the ball out of his hands. From the head-on angle, it was unclear whether the ball had hit the stumps or if Klaasen’s glove had knocked the wicket. Gough watched the footage over and over, but despite sounding uncertain, he decided to give the out call in favor of the fielding team.

Gill stayed calm and composed during the review, but he lost his cool when he confronted the match official outside the boundary line, likely asking for an explanation.
