After beating Punjab Kings in Mullanpur on Super Sunday, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) climbed back into the playoff race in the IPL 2025 points table. Later that evening, Mumbai Indians (MI) boosted their own chances by cruising to a commanding nine-wicket win over arch-rivals and five-time champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK).
RCB’s solid seven-wicket win over PBKS has helped them jump from fifth to third in the IPL 2025 points table. With that, the current top four teams in the playoff spots are Gujarat Titans, Delhi Capitals, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, and Punjab Kings. The race is heating up as the league enters its second half.
However, the playoff race is getting more intense, with five teams now tied at 10 points. Alongside the current top four Gujarat Titans, Delhi Capitals, Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Punjab Kings. Lucknow Super Giants have also joined the mix. With the second half of the league underway every match from here on could shape the final playoff lineup.
On the other hand, Chennai Super Kings crushing 9-wicket loss has put their playoff hopes in serious trouble. With just two wins from eight matches, their form has dipped sharply and both their batting and bowling have failed to click. They now find themselves at the bottom of the IPL 2025 points table.
At the top of the table, Gujarat Titans continue to lead with 10 points from seven games and a strong net run rate of +0.984. Close behind are Delhi Capitals (+0.589), Royal Challengers Bengaluru (+0.472), Punjab Kings (+0.177) and Lucknow Super Giants (+0.088) all with 10 points each making the playoff race even more gripping as the league enters its business end.
